Practice Description: In addition to helping you with symptoms of depression or anxiety, difficult life transitions, stress at work or home, or relationship problems, our work together will focus on facilitating positive change. I will provide a safe space for you to share your concerns while also offering new perspectives that challenge you to better understand and ultimately change self-defeating patterns. I will support you in developing a better understanding of yourself, with the goal of making lasting emotional and behavioral change.

In my practice I utilize psychodynamic psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on helping clients regulate emotions, tolerate distress, develop mindfulness skills, and enjoy more effective interpersonal relationships. A particular interest of mine is helping people who have dropped out of previous therapy.

In addition to seeing clients in private practice I also supervise psychiatric residents and psychology trainees at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Previous workplaces include Pace University Counseling Center, New York University Counseling Center, Bellevue Hospital, and Project Liberty, New York's FEMA-funded mental health response to 9/11.

I am committed to working in a multicultural- and LGBTQI-affirming therapy environment.
