Practice Description: |
 | I am also offering phone sessions and live sessions and zoom sessions. I have never closed my office during COVID |
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working in the field for over 25 years. I work with individuals, children, couples and families. I provide a warm, safe, comfortable environment. I recognize that it can be difficult for some people to reach out for help. I have been told that I am easy to talk to and people feel engaged in the therapeutic process quickly. Each person is unique and so it the way we treat the concern.
My treatment approach is eclectic and varied. I truly focus on the persons needs. Through counseling, it is my hope, that people gain insight into their behaviors. Together, we address how to make positive changes in place of the negative behaviors. We work as a team to get past the obstacles and blocks. After 2-3 sessions, you will have an idea as to how to address your concerns.
My specialty is in addiction ranging from drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, sex, etc. I am a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). We address causes, prevention, progression, consequences and recovery. Often people feel ashamed, when addressing these issues. There is no judgement. I work with Impaired Driving System for those who have received a ticket for driving impaired. They may have received a DWI or DUI. I am a Substance Abuse Professional, working with those individuals provided a positive drug test at their job) I recommend appropriate education, treatment, follow up tests and aftercare. I work with those individuals who have trauma. I do disaster mental health and work well with first responders. It’s important to de stigmatize treatment.
I also help people address trauma. Today people are experiencing trauma more than ever.
One of my treatment approaches is cognitive behavioral therapy. I work with individuals to set attainable goals through planning, pacing and prioritizing. A person can change negative thought patterns and core beliefs. As a result, people often strengthen their ability to communicate effectively and become better advocates for themselves. Most important, people feel happy and complete when looking at their progress in therapy. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. If you don't get me, leave a message and I will return your call.
