The ability to overcome challenges in my own life led me to the wonderful world of Psychology. I realized that if people had the right support during the difficult and trying times in their lives (and let’s face it, everyone has them), they would be able to overcome just about anything! That powerful concept was the springboard to my career in mental health.
I have over fifteen years of experience in helping adults, children, and adolescents live the life they want to live. I have worked in a variety of settings such as home, schools, hospitals, clinics, non-profit organizations and private practice. In 2019, I decided to make my dream come true, take a leap of faith and open my own practice, Psychi Counseling. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Some of my other specialties include guiding people through difficult life adjustments (such as break-ups, divorce, career changes and stress management) as well as trauma, including those impacted by sexual abuse and domestic violence. I also specialize in Child and Adolescent Therapy where I implement family-directed approaches, such as parenting skills training, behavior management training and other treatments designed to facilitate the growth of strong and productive children so they can lead emotionally healthy lives.
I also have extensive experience in conducting psychological evaluations including psychological evaluations for immigration to assist immigrants in obtaining legal status to remain in the US and support them through this challenging process.
