For over 20 plus years, I have enjoyed working with teens and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship conflict and disordered eating/body image issues. I am a very supportive and empathetic therapist. I want to help you learn how to be kind to yourself and validate yourself. I want to help you challenge your distorted thoughts and give you better skills to manage every day stressors.
After graduating with my Masters Degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), I completed additional clinical training at the University of Michigan Medical Center. In addition, I spent over 10 years on staff at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago providing therapy for adolescents and families.
I am trained in a very effective type of treatment for anxiety and depression called Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT). One of my approaches is to help clients see things in a different perspective by challenging unproductive thinking patterns. I believe it is extremely important to provide and to nurture a supportive, secure and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
I know that it can be very difficult to seek out help and I work very hard to create a secure, nonjudgmental and confidential environment. Again, I am happy to respond to email and provide
brief phone assessments no charge.
