Practice Description: |
My main form of psychotherapy is Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), which is entirely non-judgmental and very effective. I also use Emotional Freedom Technique, which is also totally non-judgmental. I have dealt with anxiety and much grief in my life, as well as personal life-threatening illness. It brings me much joy to offer these areas as areas of attention with clients. I also love interacting with members of the LGBTQ community in therapy because of friends, family, and clients who are in that community. I learn so much from them, and it is very satisfying to support and assist them. People are born the way they are born, and there is nothing that needs changing or fixing. I am a strong LGBTQ ally. I am also very interested in the mind-body connection and how understanding that connection may affect a person's health. I have had personal experience in this area as well.
IFS teaches that we have a core of health and goodness, even though we may have been taught the opposite. We can access that inner core. No part of us is bad. When we are in deep grief, there is tremendous pain. Even this pain can heal, and you can find happiness again.
