Practice Description: |
I view psychotherapy as a healing and sacred process that needs to be built on trust, acceptance and deep understanding. My style is warm and engaging and I strive to combine my nurturing and supportive approach with more than 30 years of clinical training and experience to arrive at a deeper understanding of your unique story and obstacles. This approach can lead to a genuine connection to your personal path towards growth, happiness, inner peace and fulfilling relationships. While knowing what we need to change is an important step, it is the deeper understanding and confrontation of our inner obstacles that bring about lasting change.
I have two offices, one in San Francisco and another in San Jose, in which I provide in depth psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups. My 30 years of clinical training and experience have been in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches with adults as well as children and adolescents in both in-patient and out-patient settings. In working with clients I utilize all of my diverse clinical training and experiences from a variety of approaches to meet each individual client's unique emotional and psychological needs. In providing psychotherapy I am sensitive to each client's needs and very interested in a deeper understanding of his/her unique problems and the story of the unfoldment of his/her individual journey towards growth and the achievement of wholeness in life. Each life story is full of unique obstacles and it is through a compassionate understanding of our difficulties as well as the strengthening of our inner emotional capacities that we can confront our unique challenges and continue to grow and achieve fulfillment and inner peace in life. In addition to private practice, I provide training and consultation to other therapists and graduate psychology students in the Bay area. I am on the training faculty in the Analytical training program at the Jung Institute of San Francisco and have been an adjunct faculty teaching at various Bay are universities. In the past fifteen years, I have been conducting professional workshops on a variety of psychological topics and have been presenting professional papers at national and international psychology conferences.
