Practice Description: Are you a adult, adolescent or child struggling with thoughts, feelings or behaviors that make it difficult to move forward in school, your career, or your life?

Do you feel stuck, battling emotions, thoughts or obstacles that you can't easily identify or articulate, but know are holding you back from reaching your full potential?

Or are you are a highly successful individual who wants to understand yourself better, work through your issues, enhance your interpersonal relationships, increase your feelings of self worth and self esteem, and reach the next level in your career, interpersonal life or self awareness?

At South Coast Psychiatry, we can help. We are a multidisciplinary group for those looking for the best, most comprehensive, integrative and holistic possible care for themselves or their loved ones.

We are proud to have a strong multidisciplinary team of experts in mental health, including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical therapists -- all of whom work together to help accurately diagnose and treat a wide variety of emotional, cognitive, behavioral, social and interpersonal issues. We pride ourselves on being a "one stop shop" for those looking for the highest level of concierge outpatient mental health care in Orange County.

At South Coast Psychiatry, we provide both psychiatric assessments and medication management (if needed), psychological testing, neuropsychological testing, individual psychotherapy for kids, adolescents and adults, family therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness based therapies, as well as school (IEP, 504, etc) or work advocacy if needed for kids/adolescents, as well as executive and life coaching for adults.

Our multidisciplinary team works like a mental health think tank, or brain trust -- we routinely carve time out of our schedules to collaborate with one another about patients we share, issues we struggle with, new articles, the latest research and experiences we can share with one another to elevate our own knowledge and continue our lifelong dedication to learning, and staying abreast of the latest literature and evidence based approaches in our field. We also believe most obstacles that are best addressed via a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, to which all of our patients at South Coast Psychiatry have access as a member of our practice.

Not only do our clinicians have a multidisciplinary, concierge and collaborative approach to treatment, we have a front office staff that is available weekdays during business hours to answer the phone to provide assistance and information to new patients as well as ongoing guidance and support to our existing patients -- so the phone is almost always answered by a live person working to help our patients get their needs met. Our administrative staff is part of the concierge approach to care that helps set South Coast Psychiatry apart from other practices -- if you're calling during business hours, you will rarely get a voicemail box. Our staff works tirelessly to help the right patients get the help they need. And for those who want the very best, our staff will work to get them into South Coast Psychiatry within 48-72 business hours. If South Coast Psychiatry is not the right fit for you, our admin team will work with you to help figure out how to get you the help you need, and help refer you to someone who can help -- even if it's not with us.

Our dedicated clinicians and full-time staff provide a concierge level of service, unprecedented in Orange County. We do not believe in the "five minute medication check" -- our minimum visit with a patient (for "medications only") is 30 minutes, and our MDs, NP and PhDs routinely offer 60 and 90 minute visits with patients to provide a combination of psychotherapy and medication management, or psychotherapy alone. All of our clinicians give our patients our cell phone numbers and our email addresses, and are available to our patients outside of sessions if needed, or can see patients more than once a week if indicated. Each of our clinicians get to know our patients in depth, prefer to connect with our patients support systems, and work hard to figure out the myriad ways we can help them break unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviors, and move forward in their lives.

At South Coast Psychiatry, we believe strongly a biopsychosocialspiritual approach to treating everything we see in our field: as medical doctors, nurse practitioners and psychologists, our team is equipped to look at biological contributions, psychological dynamics, social factors and spiritual connections that may be off balance, and contributing to your current situation. Our clinicians will work with you to put together a comprehensive, holistic treatment plan that can help both achieve and maintain emotional health and wellness. We believe that by addressing all of these spheres in an integrated way, you will have the best chance of moving forward in your life.

All of our clinicians also understand executive issues, organizational psychology and leadership, and often help our patients on their journeys both personally and professionally. We routinely help our patients figure out a direction in school, a career path or change, or to identify dynamics and overcome obstacles that can help our patients succeed in both academic and professional settings, as well as interpersonally.

While we work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team, at South Coast Psychiatry, we also see patients for medications alone who are already being seen by a therapist or primary care doctor they know and trust. We believe strongly in a treatment team approach, and in forming an integrated network of all of the clinicians and supports in our patients world. Our doctors and clinicians will gladly work with your individual therapist, your couples therapist, your primary care doctor, any medical specialists, your family, and/or any other members of your treatment team in a collaborative, integrated way to help you move forward.

Our primary mission at South Coast Psychiatry is to elevate the standard of outpatient mental health care in our community by providing a concierge approach to psychiatric and psychological treatment that is unparalleled.
For more information about South Coast Psychiatry, and our concierge approach to outpatient care, please visit our website at .

Our other missions at South Coast Psychiatry are to help spread accurate information and increase awareness and recognition of mental health issues, and to help eliminate stigma and shame surrounding mental illness. In this vein, we come together as a practice to support various charitable organizations in mental health such as OC NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill), The Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), as well as Autism Speaks.

We also spend a tremendous amount of time cultivating a mental health resources site on Facebook to service this mission, -- where we provide information to help our patients, colleagues and followers of our page move forward, help connect people with resources that can help along their journeys, provide accurate information about mental and emotional issues, and help destigmatize mental illness. We are proud to have over 1000 followers of our Facebook page, across the country, and plan to continue to help increase awareness and continue the national conversation about mental health, to encourage those that are struggling to seek treatment, and ultimately to take the shame and stereotype out of mental illness.

Regardless of how we can help, all of us at South Coast Psychiatry wish you happiness, health and wellness -- and would be honored to work alongside you to achieve your goals!
