 | With the reopening of Illinois I am now resuming in-person sessions, and am also continuing to provide video, telehealth sessions. |
Trying to find the right counselor or therapist during challenging times can be overwhelming. I will provide you with a comprehensive assessment of your situation and then help you understand your options and what to look for when choosing a counselor. I will then refer you to a licensed counselor/therapist in my referral network who has expertise in your problem area, is committed to helping you achieve the changes you want, and who will work with you as a partner; evaluating services with you regularly and making sure that what you are receiving is meeting your needs.
In addition to assessments and referrals, I provide ongoing counseling for individuals experiencing life transitions and other emotional stresses, including providing help to individuals struggling with past or recent traumas.
Individuals undergoing life transitions are helped to conceptualize alternative ways to create a happy and joyful life, and then develop steps that help them move toward that vision. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, I frequently use Dr. Brene´Brown’s renowned curriculums, The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ in my work with individuals, as well as with groups.
Those experiencing troubles arising from unresolved trauma will be offered help in reprocessing traumatic memories using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), in addition to other therapeutic techniques.
