Practice Description: |
 | Offering video and phone sessions |
In life, along the way, we may get stuck, hurt, or just off track. In such times, we need an accepting witness and the invitation to know ourselves differently and freshly.
My style and training.
Humor and play, warmth, and empathy are the keys to my practice. I now even have a lovely hypoallergenic Havenese puppy in the room, who will love you up, or sleep quietly, usually depending on what you need. More and more research validates that gentle play and humor with trusted other work to restore interrupted or stalled emotional systems of health. In my practice, there is room for as much or a little of you as you want to bring.
As part of therapy, we will, at times, move to your edges of comfort and vulnerability. When this happens I will be there with you guided by care, experience, intuition, and reverence for your process. There is a common misconception that going deeply and painfully is the only way to achieve real change, actually working too fast can (re)traumatize you and leave the original pain more entrenched.
I develop a space with clients that is connected, responsive, and in tune, like musical instruments finding the point where they sound good together. Going at a measured pace, in this environment of safety, we can co-create a process of change for you, impacting your neurobiology and bringing the changes you long for. I am trained (and continue to train) in a somatic practice known as Somatic Transformation. Somatic Transformation works through attunement between client and therapist, and the right brain processes of communication and knowing. With gentle yet intentional inquiry emotional and physiological regulation to the disrupted nervous system becomes restored, bringing back calm, aliveness, resilience, and the ability to connect with the self and others more deeply.
All the training in psychodynamic and attachment theories as well as several other theoretical frameworks that I work within a strength-based and person-centered practice to provide you with a safe place to make a change for yourself. I look forward to hearing from you. So many things can bring a person to therapy but the very act of seeking therapy demonstrates a set of resources you may not even be aware you have.
