Practice Description: |
Living can look different when the current lens is tilted to reveal a new view on working and loving. Post-Pandemic working arrangements have eased some aspects of life but increased pressure on other areas. A persistent internal sense of unrest may feel less tolerable these days.
As an older therapist, I've learned that some lived experiences remain similar over time and are share worthy. I have experience with trichotillomania, a secretive, stubborn and embarrassing symptom of anxiety. I also relate to parents of twins with its multiple challenges and frustrations.

I don't work directly with any insurance company. To some patients, insurance companies feel like a third person eavesdropping in the consulting room and prohibits honesty and the ability to fully relax. However, I do provide a monthly statement you can use to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, if you wish. |

Hair: The Symbolic Currency of Mourning
By turning our lens, I discover how the symbolic use of hair to mourn is a "rite of passage" that marks real or symbolic death. In each case, a hair ritual is usefully reconfigured to meet the demands of a changing society while remaining connected to our vanished past through this stable conduit --- hair. |
