Hello. I'm a skilled, professional, individual and marital psychotherapist, and have worked in numerous outpatient and inpatient settings. I have now been in private practice for many years, working with a wide range of problems occurring in men, women, adolescents, and children. I believe a therapist needs to have a sound practical understanding of human behavior and psychological difficulties. Treatment is about understanding one's life, problem symptoms and causes, and working towards greater health. New orientations and techniques do have a place in treatment, or can be a trend of no real lasting value. Traditional talk therapy is often irreplaceable.
My perspective is that therapy needs to take place in a relaxed, mutually respectful professional relationship. There's no place for therapist disrespect or condescension, a dynamic that all too often derails treatment. Therapy is a rewarding endeavor, but it's also your life, and therefore a serious pursuit.

$140 for a regular session (45-50 min.) |
| Insurance and Billing Instructions: |
Like many other psychotherapists, I no longer participate with insurance companies. As a mental health provider, this allows me to better concentrate on therapy matters and not business. Clients pay my full fee, $140, at the time of each visit, but many are able to receive significant reimbursement from their insurance. I can assist you in this process. |
