Practice Description: My first concern is to offer warm, thoughtful, and caring support for you as you deal with whatever ups & downs and transitions you are going through. My second concern is to support you in developing deeper self-awareness, a more integrated way of being yourself, and thereby more settlement and fulfillment in life. In addition to dealing with basic life requirements, we all need to nurture a sense of our self-uniqueness and life direction, yet these deeper elements are often overlooked in the rush and press of daily life needs. This 'overlooking' can leave a person feeling empty, lost and alone. The ability to see oneself as an integral part of a larger whole, and to know oneself within this whole - these are essential aspects of well-being. My background is in Transpersonal or Depth Psychology, which is aimed at helping a person tune into this web of connection, both internally and externally, and to learn to situate themselves in a more expansive living field as a way of becoming reinvigorated and re-inspired with their life journey. Taking charge of your life is not only (or most importantly) about financial strength; it is firstly about belief in self, ability to ward off fear, understanding the importance of letting go of the past, and building confidence and inner intactness. This kind of development requires caring and compassionate support as well as the establishment of new/different practices. I can help with both. My aim as a counselor is to provide a safe container for the emotional, cognitive, and spiritual experiences that arise in response to challenging events and life changes. Safety and process of the right kind are the basis for significant shifts in perspective, and the possibility of new/renewed psychological well-being. We all need regularly to shift the way we see things. If you are feeling the need for this kind of shift as well as the need for good support in the changes you are trying to make, please feel free to get in touch.
