Practice Description: I am a licensed psychologist with 25 years experience in couples, individual, group and sex therapy. My patients are straight, gay, single, married, divorced, and remarried and range in age from younger to older adults. New patients are often surprised during the first session to find they open up more easily than they expected and are able to talk about very personal subjects. I am a caring, supportive and compassionate person which helps people feel safe sharing the most vulnerable issues.

Compared to most therapists, I am very active, involved and personal in therapy. I do not just sit back and listen and I do not just give advice. I listen to patients with empathy and caring but I go beyond listening to confront and motivate patients to change. It is relatively easy to listen, support and give "fix it" advice. It is much harder to confront someone with the truth about their problems and to get them to actually change. My patients would tell you that I am caring but tough. I do not hold back from telling patients the truth they need to hear to change their lives. I have a reputation of working well with CEO's, lawyers, and other people who are use to being in control because I am not easily controlled and I am willing to take them on. I have extensive experience and skills working with couples in crises involving marital conflicts, addiction, infidelity, and parenting.

In therapy: I show people what they do that causes their problems. I help them work through issues and find the motivation to make lasting changes in the way they live their lives. For more, I welcome you to visit my website

Additional Comments: I am a solution-focused therapist. My goal is to help people achieve their goals as quickly as possible and to make lasting change.

I am interested in working with people who want to make significant changes in their lives and who are willing to take responsibility to do so. My patients are looking for more than just support during a crisis, although it may be a crisis that brings them to therapy in the first place. While therapy often provides emotional support, the main goal of therapy is to change the way patients approach and copes with life and relationships. Thus, not only helping with their current crisis but teaching them to change to avoid a similar crisis in the future. My patients are aware that there is something about their personality or the way they cope in life and relationships that contributes to their personal or career problems. They may not know exactly what causes their problems, but know that something needs to change about themselves.
