Women’s Self-Esteem Building Group Now Forming

Winter 2017, Gateway to Solutions will be hosting a women's only Self-Esteem Group. Self-Esteem is based on how we see ourselves - our strengths and limitations - over time. It is how and what we think of ourselves. Self- Esteem plays an important role in leading a happy, fulfilling life. This 16-week group aims to help these women to better understand their own self-esteem, change the way in which they interpret their life as well as build practical skills to increase the women's level of self-esteem. GTS Welcomes Doria Miller, LMSW to the Practice
Doria is a licensed therapist who has experience working with individuals of all ages with a wide variety of concerns and goals entering into therapy. She earned her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, where her focus of study was in clinical practice in the mental health field. She specializes in working with women with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Her therapeutic approach is humanistic, evidence-based and goal-oriented; her style is warm and interpersonal. She is in the process of completing postgraduate trainings in Rational Emotive Therapy (REBT) at the Albert Ellis Institute, and in Complicated Grief Treatment (CGT) at the Center for Complicated Grief at Columbia University. Her clinical experiences include The Renfrew Center of New York, a treatment center for eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and women’s issues; The National Jewish Council for Disabilities, an international disability inclusion and advocacy organization; and Emory University NAPLS project (North American Prodrome Longitudinal Study), one of the world's largest studies on the development of Schizophrenia and psychosis. 

Ketamine Infusions for Refractory Depression and Anxiety Disorders:  Dr. John A. Mendiola Joins GTS
John A. Mendiola, MD is a board certified attending anesthesiologist who has been in practice for over 15 years.  He received his training at the Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein-Weiler Hospital, graduating as chief resident in his class.  He has experience administering ketamine throughout his entire career.  His undergraduate education was from University of Pennsylvania, earning a dual degree in pre-med and business finance from the prestigious School of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude.  Dr. Mendiola  is excited to bring his pain management expertise with ketamine infusions to help those who suffer with emotional pain and suffering.
