Practice Description:
Please note that during the COVID-19 crisis I offer videoconferencing services and sanitize all common areas before and after every appointment.

Your primary goal is for you or a loved one to feel better ASAP, right? Well, I have 25+ years experience doing exactly that! If experience, credentials, and peer validation are priorities for you then I encourage you to examine my CV, which you can find at www.helpingfamilies.com/me.html (e.g., I'm a past president of the PA Psychological Association, a university professor, author, media consultant to national outlets and creator of social media content). Here I will share that it is important to me to do a thorough and kind evaluation before any treatment recommendations are shared; this includes completing assessments and reviewing relevant records. I also believe it is important to fully explain the results of the evaluation, including any recommendations. Moreover, I prioritize setting transformational goals before the work starts so that both my client(s) and I can know if what we are doing is life altering. Finally, I think it is important to offer treatments that have a scientific basis to support their usage, adjusting them based on unique client needs and responses. Throughout the entire process I also think it is important for my client(s) to feel like I care and that our time together stands to be healing and life giving. At the end of the day, counseling ought to be the pursuit of truth in service of the promotion of deep happiness and satisfaction.

Additional Comments: Many clients enjoy reviewing the FAQs that I have listed at www.helpingfamilies.com/practice.html. I would also share that I use magic to forge connections with kids and teens as so many youth do not want to see a therapist; showing youth amazing magic, and playfully referring to myself as a wizard who is willing to teach them magic, is very helpful.
