Practice Description: |
My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in a deep respect for the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Suffering is a uniquely individual experience. You may be feeling a sense of profound loneliness in your inner world, unable to relate to others or finding difficulty fitting in. Perhaps depression and anxiety are preventing you from feeling fully engaged in important relationships or your relationships unravel in spite of your best efforts. You may be noticing that it is difficult to be kind or patient with yourself.
Healing is a process made possible with the kindness, respect, patience and acceptance of another person. I listen attentively and will help you recognize the underlying forces that shape, and sometimes constrict , your life. Together we will examine the experiences you have had that have helped form your inner landscape. By examining the impact of your life experiences you may find yourself more conscious of the ways in which you have become trapped in patterns that are not working for you any longer.
I provide a thoughtful, warm and reliable presence in which to gain deeper understanding and to experience self discovery, making it possible for deep and lasting changes to occur. I offer long term, in-depth psychotherapy as well as brief, insight oriented treatment, depending on your needs.
Seeking therapy is a hopeful and courageous act and I encourage you to take the next step. I welcome working with adults, couples and I offer group work for parents and infants to 6 months.
