Practice Description: We have all experienced difficult transitions in our lives which created feelings of anxiety, fear, loneliness, anger or sadness. Developing new ways of coping, or new ways of looking at values and beliefs, can help us transcend these feelings and create new opportunities for peace and meaning in our lives. I am compassionate and nonjudgmental, with an informal and interactive style. I am interested in your spiritual framework as it may pertain to values and beliefs which are helpful or harmful, and I often use humor as a means to maintain safety and balance in our work together.

For over 20 years, I have helped men and women heal the complex emotions we experience with loss resulting from various life transitions or the death of a loved one (including pets). These emotions are complicated by additional dynamics when the loss is due to sudden or violent death, suicide, or long-term illness, or by challenges associated with long-term caregiving. By working together, I can help you to experience healing and find ways to move forward with your life again, while honoring your loved one and keeping their memory alive.

I also help adults in the later stages of life to address the unique concerns associated with aging and end-of-life planning. I have worked with many older adults who are struggling with caregiver challenges due to long-term illness in the family or dependent children/grandchildren living with them.

In addition, I specialize in working with survivors of domestic violence, violent crimes, and childhood trauma/abuse. I can help you work through painful memories and events and begin the process of long-term healing and the creation of new beginnings. I am a certified trauma and loss professional, as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
