Practice Description: |
Welcome! Through the therapy process you will discover your innate strengths and resources and find an optimal way of living and being. For over 15 years I have been helping people improve their overall psychological health. A strong and trusting bond with the right therapist is a key part of this process. My priority is that you feel heard and accepted in our work together so that you get the maximum benefits from the therapy experience. I'll provide a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can feel very safe to express your feelings and explore your issues in depth.
My therapy style is supportive, interactive and focused on you reaching your specific goals. While experienced in addressing a range of problems, some areas that I specialize in are anxiety and phobias, depression, self-esteem, problems with relationships, trauma, and body/weight issues. In addition, I assist people in learning to better manage stress, particularly stress related to life transitions, career/work, health problems, artistic blocks, procrastination and perfectionism.
Therapy can improve your self-awareness and help you identify unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving. False beliefs about yourself can cause you to feel stuck, lost, or doubt who you really are. They can leave you feeling hopeless about life. Frequently people come to therapy with complaints of feeling weak, incompetent, "fake", unworthy, or just not being "enough". These patterns of thinking can get in the way of feeling genuinely happy and satisfied with your life. Therapy can help you better understand yourself and your needs, have a more realistic perspective and find practical solutions to problems.
As your therapist I will help you modify these thought patterns while discovering your own unique and inherent strengths and skills. Improved confidence and stronger sense of self and identity will allow you to connect more authentically with others and drastically improve your relationships overall. By feeling empowered, you will make healthier, more positive choices while making lasting changes that lead to a more fulfilling and successful life.
I'll partner with you to determine what your particular needs are for therapy. Sometimes a short-term, solution-focused therapy approach is best to learn more immediate skills to address specific problems. Other times therapy can involve a more gradual, in-depth process of exploration in order to best achieve your goals. As everyone's needs are different, I'll closely collaborate with you to tailor the therapy to your unique situation.
People seek therapy for different reasons and making the decision to get professional help can be daunting. If you're reading this then you have already taken that first step. I believe that discovering your true potential and becoming the best version of yourself is possible, and I look forward to being your companion on that journey!
