The most important thing to consider when choosing a therapist is whether you could really see yourself working with and trusting him/her with your concerns. Are they professional, friendly, and competent? A master therapist can work effectively with almost anyone, and research shows that the most important predictor of therapeutic success is the relationship. This "fit" is much more important than degree type, experience, or specialization.
I work with adults, couples, and older teens on a wide range of concerns, from relationship problems, anxiety, and depression, to more complex life situations and ways of being in the world. I take a variety of insurance plans, and we can also find a fee that works for your income.
In addition to my practice, I am Staff Psychologist / Director of Counseling Services at Washington State University Vancouver, and an adjunct professor at Portland State University.
