| Practice Description: |
I am a licensed Marriage Family Therapist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents. I have spent the last thirty years helping young people work through their many and varied challenges. In addition to my private practice, I worked for 19 years as a therapist treating children and adolescents at an Out-Patient Center affiliated with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. As well as working with children, I am experienced in assisting parents in acquiring skills that enhance their ability to raise high-functioning and happy children and I conduct both private and group parenting classes.
Our practice specializes in treating children and adolescents, as well as parenting training. We use the latest approaches including play therapy. However, the most powerful intervention is the therapeutic relationship between the child or adolescent and the therapist. Being able to be supportive while addressing problem issues is our forte.
University Counseling is a private practice located in Irvine, California where independent therapists treat children, adolescents and their families in a comfortable and non-threatening environment. We have significant experience in dealing with all aspects of child therapy including behavioral and emotional problems, and the treatment of victims of trauma
