| Practice Description: |
Transitions occur throughout our lives - high school to college, career changes, relocation, adjustment to loss, recovering from trauma, family dynamics, life stages, new relationships.... And sometimes we crave transition yet feel stuck. I enjoy counseling adults, teenagers, and couples through such transitions, and specialize in working with people who are going through depression, anxiety, relationship and stress related difficulties. I have several years experience working with people from diverse backgrounds in mental health and higher education settings.
My experiences in counseling include working with adults diagnosed with a personality disorder, adults and teenagers struggling with addiction, depression, family difficulties, anxiety, and an array of adjustment issues. I have counseled couples who improve their life together, and couples who decide that breaking up or divorcing is more realistic.
I have additional training in the treatment of depression and anxiety, working with sexually aggressive youth, and conflict mediation. Additionally, I worked in higher education admissions (The College of Wooster, Ohio and Vanderbilt University, Tennessee) for several years. I counsel families going through the college search, application, and selection processes.
