| Practice Description: |
The bulk of my clients are couples. I am a Systemic Marriage and Family Therapist and see issues in our lives from a inter-relationship perspective rather than something that simply dwells within the individual. Even when I work with individuals my concentration is on the systems of which they are a part and particularly their Family of Origin and its impact on how they relate today.
I work from a Social Constructionist philosophy and the main model of interest for me is the Milan Systemic model.
I don't want therapy to go on forever and I therefore try to help clients establish and focus on goals to move toward a healthier way of living. I see my 'expertise' as being a facilitator to help create the space for clients to tap into their own resources and discover a better way to deal with their life situations. In that work I tend to be direct and open with clients. See my website www.tonyfryer.com for more information and an video introduction.
