I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in helping clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or emotional instability using research-proven psychotherapies. I also work with a variety of clients that are having relationship difficulties. My approach generally focuses on generating insight, cultivating acceptance, and creating behavioral change. In my experience, neither insight, nor acceptance, nor behavioral strategies alone are enough to create lasting and meaningful life change. However, the combination of these three approaches is a very powerful recipe for healing old wounds that affect us today and creating meaningful change in the present.
I also currently offer three coping skills groups for depression and anxiety based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. Groups meet once a week in the evenings and emphasize learning and practicing of coping strategies for the management of depression, anxiety and life stressors.
