| Practice Description: |
With 20+ years of experience and solid training I am dedicated to helping you feel and be your best. Offering individual and group psychotherapy, my style is open, attuned, and compassionate, with room for humor. I will help you formulate effective coping strategies and tools to be more in control while discovering what contributes to, and helps maintain, underlying patterns of helplessness, self-defeat, and unsatisfying relationships. Our work focuses on your personality and needs. Self-exploration, leading to a new understanding of "old" scripts, generates creativity, resilience, flexibility, and novel thinking (essential for good problem-solving!). GROUPS: Women's Resiliency Groups; Surviving Middle School Girl's Groups; Parenting Groups. SPECIALTIES: Life Transitions; Relationships; Parenting Issues; Depression; Anxiety; Divorce; Family of Origin Struggles; Early Trauma; Examining Life's Meaning and Purpose; Loss; Coping With Adversity.

| Insurance and Billing Instructions: |
My initial consultation is free should you decide for any reason not to return for followup sessions. I am not a provider on any insurance panels, but instead prefer to work with you directly. If there is a true financial need, I will do my best to have us figure out a fee that is workable. If I am unable to do so, I am happy to assist you with referrals or other resources. During the course of therapy I provide you with a monthly statement that contains all the information required by your insurance company. In special cases, I will work with an insurance company on a Single Case Agreement. |

| Additional Comments: |
During the initial consultation you can share your concerns and get a sense of how well I understand what brought you to therapy, your needs, and goals. Effective psychotherapy is about a good "fit" between two people, as well as education, training, and experience. The consultation is a good time to raise any questions about psychotherapy in general, how I work, or your particular situation. Of course, those questions can be asked at any point in the future, as well. |
