| Practice Description: |
I have focused my education, training and experience in just two areas: my specialty is providing treatment and support for most kinds of addictions/compulsive behaviors and help with a wide range of sexual problems, and issues directly related to these areas.
I’ve helped hundreds of people change their lives through my addiction counseling practice. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs (street or prescription), pornography or other sexual activity, gambling or shopping, I can teach you how to abstain from or control the harmful behavior. I specialize in individualized treatment, working with you to find out how to manage YOUR life, restructure your particular life circumstances to stop the harmful behavior and realize your dreams to live a sane, productive life. I have over 10 years of experience working with addiction issues, and formerly worked for the Orange County Health Care Agency in Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services as an individual substance abuse counselor, a group facilitator, an intake coordinator, crisis counselor, and a member of the psychiatric evaluation team. At HCA I also worked with dual diagnosis clients who had depression, anxiety, PTSD and other more severe mental illnesses – I understand these problems and how they relate to substance abuse and compulsive behavior.
As a Certified Sex Therapist I work with individuals and couples who are either having particular problems in their sexual functioning or who are unsatisfied with the quality and/or frequency of their sexual activity. I help clients with a wide range of sexual concerns, with special skills in couples issues, low sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, rapid or delayed/inhibited ejaculation, sexual trauma, adults molested as children, women with sexual pain disorders, and sexual compulsions/addictions.
I believe that sexuality is a primary component of human fulfillment and overall happiness and should not be ignored or rooted in fear or shame. I know that virtually all sexual problems and issues have solutions and can be resolved. My philosophy is that each individual already has the resources to overcome these issues, but may need help from a trained, empathetic and non-judgmental professional to achieve success. To facilitate this growth, I create a safe, warm, positive environment to provide the necessary services for individual and couples who have the courage to ask for help with their problems.
Call me to discuss your particular concerns and get on the path to a more healthy, fulfilling and satisfying life.
