| Practice Description: |
One of my areas of interest is helping artists with their creative process. Artists often face challenges feeling "blocked" in their process. I work to transform self-sabotaging and self-destructive habits which may be preventing him or her from realizing success.
As a California Registered Psychological Assistant (PSB32731), supervised by Cheryl Arutt, PsyD (PSY16469), I am able to provide excellent care at a reduced fee.
Often times, people come to therapy because they are unsatisfied with life or find themselves repeating the same old patterns. Together, we can work to achieve new ways of being. I believe that therapy works when a person is able to gain insight, freely express emotions, and develop self-awareness. In order to accomplish this, the therapist must create an environment of trust, understanding, and authenticity.
My approach to couple therapy focuses on increasing intimacy and reducing conflict. By creating an emotionally safe and healing environment where the couple can strengthen their bond to one another, I work to identify negative interaction patterns in the relationship and change those patterns to ones of understanding, compassion, and intimacy.

WHAT IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSISTANT? In California, "Registered Psychological Assistant" is a specific form of registration with the California Board of Psychology by which an unlicensed person with a qualifying graduate degree in clinical psychology can perform psychological functions to accrue hours of supervised professional experience. The Registered Psychological Assistant is employed and supervised by a licensed psychologist in a private setting, providing specific psychotherapy services under the licensed psychologist's direction. Payment is made directly to the primary supervisor, who has full access to the treatment records in order to perform supervision responsibilities and to monitor the professional development of the trainee. I am currently available to provide psychotherapy at a lower fee as a pre-licensed therapist, which makes private treatment more widely available. |
