Local Support Groups
- Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) - The nation’s leading patient-directed organization focusing on the most prevalent mental illnesses – depression and bipolar disorder. It has a grassroots network of more than 1,000 patient-run support groups across the country.
- National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) - NAMI is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental illnesses. NAMIs 1200 affiliate organizations provide local services, support and other opportunities for consumers and their families.
- The Balanced Mind Foundation - Directory of Local Support Groups - Groups (listed by state, province, or geographic area) that meet in person to provide support to adults raising a child or adolescent diagnosed with, or at risk for, bipolar disorder. Some groups welcome families, and a few are for teens or children only.
