Practice Description: Have you ever felt conflicted over the various roles you play? At any point in each day you may be a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, a partner, a career person, a woman. Do you sometimes feel lost in all of these roles and wonder “where did I go, who have I become, and who am I?”

Center for the Psychology of Women recognizes that societal and personal views of sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, and age can influence and impact our mental health.

Our therapists provide non-judgmental and thought-provoking mediation on the social, cultural, and political factors that influence the roles we play in our lives, the transitions we make between these roles, and how it affects the way we think and feel about ourselves.

Together, we explore your strengths and weaknesses, and foster a caring environment for personal growth and self-awareness. We work with you in a spirit of collaboration, with mutual respect, toward meaningful change and improvement in the quality of life as you define it.

Fee Schedule: The Center accepts cash, checks, and credit cards as payment.

The rates per session are dependent upon the practitioner and range from $100-$140 per 50 minute session. The Center offers a reduced rate during the week from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The Center currently does not accept health insurance. If you have a PPO health insurance plan and your plan allows for “Out of Network Providers” you may be able to be reimbursed between 50-80% of the cost. Please consult with your individual health insurance company. In addition, your therapy sessions may be tax deductible as a medical expense. Please contact your tax adviser to see if you qualify so I can prepare a receipt for services rendered.
Accepted Insurance: Please see my website for information on insurance.
Insurance and Billing Instructions: Why the Center does not accept health insurance as payment:

Because it erodes your right to privacy. If we were to accept insurance we would have to give you a “mental disorder diagnosis” that would need to be reported to the health insurance company. Some of these diagnoses can cause it to be difficult for you to obtain health insurance in the future. We would then have to write a report to the health insurance company saying you are still sick, and getting a bit better, but not too much better because then the health insurance company will claim that therapy is no longer necessary. It can be as if someone from the health insurance company is in the room with us deciding if we should continue to work together. When we send in that report with the mental disorder diagnosis, there can be up to 14 people reading, touching, or hearing about the report before one of us is reimbursed. We would rather keep our work together private.
Office Hours: By appointment
