| Practice Description: |
Your decision to begin therapy is an important one, one that is powerful and one that I will be honored to be a part of whether you are struggling in your marriage or relationship, coping with a difficult time in life, grieving the death of a loved one or simply wanting to make some life changes. As your therapist my initial goal is understanding where you are coming from, what have you been through, how have societal expectations impacted your life, what challenges have you faced and how did you arrive to the point at which you are now.
My goal is not to just sit and stare at you for fifty minutes asking you questions about your past, believe me, the past is important but I also believe it is necessary to help you learn how to cope in the here and now by learning concrete skills to help you manage difficult situations or create positive changes. I believe it is important to work with you as a teammate rather than simply putting you into a box with diagnostic labels. You are the expert in your life and as your psychotherapist I work to help you find your strengths to help you improve the areas in your life that have created obstacles for you in your relationships or the relationship you have with yourself. I am here to work with you as a guide to help you in developing positive coping skills that will help you build better relationships in your life, manage a difficult time in your life, or cope with a difficult circumstance.
Your decision to begin therapy is the first step in becoming a better you, the first step in getting the support that you need and becoming a more empowered person. Let us take the next steps in the process together.
