| Practice Description: |
Finding a good therapist is a challenge. I'll make it simple for you: You should be entirely comfortable with your choice of psychologist. This means that you should be able to trust that they have been highly trained in many areas, they are professional but approachable, and that they subscribe to the highest ethics.
My ideal client is hardworking, has a sense of humor, and is able to take responsibility for their progress.
As your psychologist, I will be trustworthy, hardworking, ethical, and I will always be honest with you regarding my opinions for treatment.
I do NOT participate in insurance plans, for many reasons. First, your privacy is my utmost concern, and if I bill through insurance, I cannot guarantee confidentiality (some diagnoses will be accessible to life insurance companies, employers, etc). Second, insurance companies exist to make money, not provide the highest quality care. This is in direct conflict with your treatment goals! Third, I believe that you and I should dictate how long and to what extent we work together, not some third party across the country.
You should know that, as a Clinical Psychologist, I have extensive training in many modalities and issues. You can feel comfortable knowing that I can draw on my extensive training and experience to provide you with an individualized treatment plan.
I am also a nationally-known Clinical Sport Psychologist, and I am charged with the care of The Ohio State Buckeyes athletic program. In this capacity, I oversee the care of almost 1000 athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
