| Practice Description: |
Are you ready to find new ways of relating to yourself and others? Therapy can help you understand old patterns of fear and pain that stand in the way of your living a more enlivened life. I am a warm and caring therapist who works in a collaborative way to help you find new ways of thinking about - and connecting with - yourself and others. I provide a comfortable, inviting, non-judgmental space where you can enjoy the satisfactions of self-discovery and explore new ideas and ways of interacting with others. As you understand yourself better, strengthen your ability to manage strong emotions, and bring forward your true (authentic) self, you will naturally let go of old patterns of relating - and of outdated, painful notions of yourself and others. While my work is primarily “insight-oriented,” I also see value in providing clients with practical tools that can help them make immediate change in their lives.
You may want to ask yourself these questions:
Do you like yourself? Do you have confidence in yourself? Does your life flow spontaneously from within so that you feel you’re living life according to your own needs and passions instead of someone else’s needs and expectations? Do you generally know what you feel and think or do you somehow feel disconnected from your inner life? Do you have trouble moving forward in your life?
In your relationships with others, do you keep arguing about the same things over and over again without making any progress toward resolution? Or perhaps you avoid conflict at all cost, choosing to say nothing about your upsets, and find that resentment festers just beneath the surface of your relationship. Or perhaps you’ve given up altogether and have withdrawn into your own corner.
These are the kind of things we'll be curious about. I invite you to bring all parts of yourself to therapy - especially the rejected, frightened, and sad parts - for in welcoming and integrating all parts of yourself, you can live a life of greater vitality.
