| Practice Description: |
In these financialIy challenging times, finding the right therapist is more important than ever. Investing in yourself and your future is the most important investment you will ever make.
I will listen carefully and work with you using my extensive training and experience to help you find your unique solutions to life's challenges. Using mindfulness and stress management techniques, I can guide and coach, in an atmosphere of safety and compassion, while encouraging personal growth and transformation.
I use a holistic and transpersonal approach to helping people, always seeking to work with the mind-body model. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples (independent of sexual orientation), experiencing a variety of emotional, mental and/or physical problems.
In addition to being a Clinical Psychologist, I am also a Nurse Practitioner with many years of health-care experience. Specialties include women’s health, infertility, menopause, HIV/AIDS, pain, disordered eating and the effects of illness and stress on overall health. Practical approaches to treatment range from short-term solution-oriented therapies to long-term, in-depth psychotherapy.
My areas of expertise include treatment of depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety conditions (excessive worry, OCD, social anxiety, panic and sleep difficulties), acculturation issues, relationship and parenting challenges, as well as work and career issues. It is gratifying to help my clients face and master life's inevitable challenges and transitions.
