| Practice Description: |
Successful psychotherapy starts with a good match between the patient and the therapist. Trained at Northwestern, I've served as a faculty member at Rutgers and Princeton, and have been in the private practice of psychotherapy since 1982. I have also been named a "Featured Therapist" of the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, specializing in both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral forms of treatment.
I approach patients with respect, dedication, and compassion. It is typically possible to uncover the core issues that are troubling to a new patient quickly, and to provide both a treatment plan and a sense of hope in the first session.
I have treated people with an extraordinarily wide range of problems, so it is unlikely that I will be unfamiliar with what is troubling to you. On over 2500 occasions, other therapists have requested my help in diagnosing and treating their patients. I was Chief Psychologist at Forest Hospital, and have performed consultations for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Black Hawks, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Right Management Consultants, and Rush North Shore Medical Center. I also served as an expert appointed by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in the case of K.L. vs. Edgar, which involved the evaluation of the Illinois Department of Mental Health.
