| Practice Description: |
I am a psychotherapist/psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City and East Hampton, Long Island (individual and couple therapy).
I focus on fears of emptiness, depression, anger, blocks in the work place and difficulties in expressing feelings in personal relationships. I also help patients find a sense of purpose in life. I deal with emotional issues that put personal suffering and anxiety within a social context moving away from philosophies that blame the victim.
I use psychodynamic, interactive techniques and dream analyses that free the expression of emotional energies and reduce anxiety. Each patient is unique and special to me. Respect for patients' emotional space is at the core of my open and caring approach to treatment.
I am a faculty member and supervising analyst at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP) in New York . I write and do research on a range of issues regarding, gender, identity, and aging from cross cultural and socio-psychoanalytic perspectives.
I am a certified and licensed psychoanalyst, member of NAAP and PCA; On the editorial boards of The Psychoanalytic Review and The International Forum of Psychoanalysis.
I work face to face combined with telephone/skype sessions. I have reduced fees for students.
