Social Skills Groups for Children

| Practice Description: |
Children's social skills groups and free parent support groups are offered. See my website for details. I specialize in evaluating and treating behavior and social skills problems in children and teens, with a particular specialty in ADD, ADHD, and Asperger's. I help families cope with the emotions that arise after diagnosis of psychological, behavioral, learning and developmental disorders. I have experience with a wide range of clients, from the mildest issues of toddler non-compliance, to the more serious issues of acting-out teenagers, to adults stressed by parenting, work and family.
I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques. My style is solution focused, giving children and families the tools they need to succeed.
I offer social skills groups for children, ages 6-14. In a safe and nurturing environment, children are taught the skills needed for successful interactions with peers and adults. Groups focus on topics such as anger management, self monitoring, friendship skills, problem solving and decision making.
