I believe that our relationships say a lot about us, and I work from a relational perspective. Worthwhile connections with those we love are essential to our growth. As a result, I value the therapeutic relationship as well. It's a powerful context for change when the match between client and therapist is solid.
Working with me means exploring your current circumstances and your history to get a thorough understanding of what stands between you and the change you seek. I find that many people choose to view their lives in black-and-white ways that restrict their freedom. Our work together will often involve finding the unexpected and using it to your advantage. To get there, I employ a straightforward approach that my clients appreciate: I'm here to partner with you to facilitate your growth, and I can only do that by being genuine.
My background is rather unique, in that I spent the better part of 8 years as a software developer in the Midwest. This helps me to build bridges for the technically-minded into rewarding, emotional places that they may not often visit.
Because entering into a counseling relationship is not an easy task, I provide a free 30-minute consultation so that we can better determine if we are likely to be a good match.
