| Practice Description: |
I view therapy as an opportunity for clients to make discoveries, find hope, and gain clarity through exploration. I support clients in gaining an increased level of self-awareness so that they may experience a more authentic self as they discover their strengths, gain insight into self-defeating patterns, and work toward self-acceptance. I encourage clients to explore how they create meaning from their personal experiences and help them each find their own answers. I believe each individual has the internal resources and the ability to live a fulfilling and authentic life.
I view the therapeutic relationship itself as an important component of the healing process. In my work with clients, I create an environment of safety, trust, and genuine connection. I encourage clients to give voice to their thoughts, help them feel heard, and gain perspective. I also work toward helping the client make connections between feelings and behavior.
At different points in life, many of us find ourselves "stuck." I collaborate with clients to help them identify barriers that keep them stuck and together we work to transition beyond them. If relevant, I also provide support in challenging self-defeating or distorted thoughts. Together we can work to help you move forward and toward your greater potential.
