Contacting a therapist is the first step to a more balanced and healthy life. Individuals often take this step when they feel stuck or are not able to find solutions to personal challenges on their own. The most effective therapy occurs when the client and therapist form a collaborative relationship in working towards a personal sense of well-being and balance.
My role is to provide a confidential, safe place where we can explore issues including depression, anxiety, self-acceptance, trauma, sexual identity and relationship problems. I also work with issues of family of origin dysfunction and how this might impact your life at the present time. I will work with you to develop strategies designed to help you achieve your personal goals and have a more fulfilling life.
I have over thirty years of experience working in a variety of settings including counseling agencies, adolescent programs, alcohol and drug addiction, medical and employee assistance.
I also enjoy working with the Spanish speaking population and am totally bilingual. I have had the honor of working with a variety of cultures and ethnicities and am able to bring the richness of these experiences into my practice.
My style of counseling is warm and engaging, respectful, practical, and interactive. I provide a counseling experience that is individualized and paced to meet your needs. Clients say that they enjoy talking with me and feel that someone finally understands them and their struggle.
I work with individuals and couples, empowering them to create healthy and satisfying relationships. Beyond using a strength-based perspective in therapy, I have also received training in clinical hypnosis and EMDR. My goal is to provide hope and practical tools for personal goal to every individual that enters my office.
