| Practice Description: |
Do you feel like you are standing on the edge and any moment you may lose your balance? Maybe you can't sleep or eat, can't focus, you react much stronger to events than you used to,or you just aren't enjoying life anymore? You are not alone. I have helped hundreds of people in the Spokane area regain their balance, find peace, and learn to love life again.
I have been counseling since 1999 and in private practice since 2003. I am currently accepting adult and adolescent clients for individual work. I use EMDR to desensitize traumatic memories; uses CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to integrate thoughts, behaviors, and feelings; and also uses attachment theory to support development of healthy, life-enhancing relationships. The ultimate goal of therapy is to promote a full awareness and acceptance of yourself from which you can effectively negotiate the world. This includes: increasing ability to experience, regulate and express feelings; decreasing any sensitivity to trauma triggers; learning to recognize life patterns and alter them; assisting to recognize needs and self-activate to meet them; improving self-esteem, improving the quality of significant relationships, increasing the ability to set, hold, and honor boundaries, and meeting any other counseling goals.
