| Practice Description: |
Therapy is about change. Changing negative patterns that don't work, while increasing your level of happiness and peace of mind.
My goal as a therapist is to provide effective, affordable counseling services for adults and adolescents, in a comfortable space where you may safely explore the patterns and concerns in your life.
I work with individuals, couples, families, groups, children, and teens. My office hours are Monday through Saturday, days and evenings.
People often seek therapy in order to change something in their lives, perhaps from feeling "stuck" in their relationships, careers, behaviors, feelings and thoughts. I am confident that positive change is always possible and that we all have the ability to make positive change happen. However, sometimes we need a little help getting there. I believe that if you keep doing the same things, you keep getting the same things. The power to change your patterns, your thoughts, your level of satisfaction and happiness, and your life is....entirely up to you.
I offer a non-judgmental, nurturing, and supportive approach in my work. My style is interactive, goal-oriented, and my therapeutic orientation is eclectic with an emphasis on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Attachment Therapy. I emphasize the relevance of changing negative thought patterns, and help you identify ways of doing so. Whatever your goals, both the treatment plan and my therapeutic style will be specific to your needs. Together, we will examine the ways you think & feel about situations in your life, and how you behave in response to these situations...while increasing self-awareness and learning more effective skills to help create the life you would rather be living.
During our first phone conversation, we will briefly discuss what has brought you to consider therapy at this time. This is so that we can make sure that I'm the right therapist for you, or help refer you to someone who is. I can also answer any initial questions you may have about my experience, your concerns, or about therapy in general. If it seems appropriate to move forward, we will discuss the fee and schedule an initial appointment.
I offer flexible office hours that include evenings and weekends.
Contact my office at (925) 979-9839 to discuss if working together would be a mutually good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards, Shalini
