Sudha Purihella has two master’s degrees majoring in Psychology and Counseling. I speak Telugu-South Indian languages and understand Hindi. I have 17 years of work experience in the field and worked in Clinical and Administrative positions in a wide variety of outpatient mental health settings and several levels of residential care from Crisis, Crisis step-down, Transitional group home, Permanent Group Home and Independent Supervised Living at Woodley House, Inc in Washington, D.C. Due to my continued interest and passion for direct services to serve this special population, I have entered the areas of clinical private practice. My approach is Eclectic, and I prefer Cognitive-Behavioral, Psycho-dynamic, Supportive and Reality Therapy. I am very intuitive, caring culturally sensitive and demonstrates a skilled ability to empathize and build a positive alliance with my clients. I believe that working with feelings from deep down allows for an individual to develop a stronger identity and build personal growth. I work collaboratively with my clients’ inner chaotic nature and empower growth and self-efficacy.
