| Practice Description: |
Seeing yourself as the author of your life is very empowering. We all have a choice. We can re-live the story of our past or choose to write the story of our future. Therapy can help you get to know who you are or what’s at the core of the issues, and help you see yourself as the author of your life rather than feeling trapped in a re-production of your past.
I adapt to meet you where you are. You never have to worry about having to fit into my model of therapeutic support. Rather, I adapt to YOU by expertly choosing and applying the right technique or sharing the best tool for your situation.
I believe in the practical application of psychology. I don’t believe in spending years in the therapy room discussing feelings and never applying the benefit to your life. By assessing and measuring your progress, I focus on the real-life ways you can change so that you can see results.
My work is evidence-based. I draw from what has been shown to work, using individualized, data-driven insights from patient work, research, training and my own professional sense.
I provide clear, constructive feedback and positive direction. While I am trained to share wisdom and insights in a way that you will hear them, I don’t sugarcoat things. You never have to worry about interpreting what I’m saying or that I will speak to you in “therapy talk.” I see my role as a guide to help you see new solutions and empowering choices available to you.
I bring a health consciousness to my work. The mind-body connection has tremendous implications on work-life balance and performance. If you’re not eating well or taking basic good care of your body, you will not feel good, nor will you perform at your best. With my additional training in health psychology, you can trust that I won’t overlook the obvious – such as getting enough sleep - when it comes to meeting your goals.
Positive change comes from focusing on your strengths. Many people see the application of psychology as focusing on weakness. I believe change is most easily possible by focusing on building on your strengths.
