My orientation is object-relations. This means that everyone is, or has been, affected by their childhood history. This history created patterns of responsive behaviors that may now be in the way of achieving a comfortable emotional life.
My job is to help look at, get comfortable with these patterns and find some new ways of dealing with feelings that arise as old responses come into focus.
New and more functional patterns are explored and hopefully replace the reactions that are not working.
