| Practice Description: |
Thank you for inquiring about my services. I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2001. My personal treatment philosophy is person centered, meaning it is founded on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel secure and ready to address any mental health issues you may have. Our goal is to improve overall self-awareness and insight into feelings and thoughts that may be contributing to your symptoms. Once this begins to happen, we will work together on a proactive approach to help alleviate symptoms and improve your overall mental health. I truly believe that you have the ability to find a resolution to your personal and inter-personal problems and reach your own unique potential. My personal style will help facilitate that natural process in a therapeutic setting.
My interest in psychology began in high school while taking an Introduction to Psychology class. I continued this interest at Loyola University of Chicago, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and Majored in Psychology. While at Loyola, I worked as an undergraduate research assistant with the Psychology Department, and helped develop research subsequently adopted in a graduate research article published by the School of Education. Following college, I continued my education and shaped my therapist skills at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, graduating with a Master of Arts degree, and specializing in Clinical Psychology.
I have worked continuously as a psychotherapist, and became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in 2001. My experience is varied, having worked in an agency setting for two years, in a hospital setting for over ten years, and in private practice the past six years. During this time, I have professionally assessed thousands of patients, and have counseled hundreds of therapy clientele. It is this knowledge and experience that I bring with me to every session to help ensure you are getting the best possible care.
