| Practice Description: |
I understand the courage it takes to call a therapist and make that first step towards emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as the necessity for working around your work day. I help clients live their best life by improving their relationships and seeking self-reflection. Clients often tell me that my humor, our tears, and my straight-forward, yet sensitive approach are key to how quickly they feel understood.
I work with late adolescent and adult individuals and couples. I specialize in all types of depression (including postpartum) and loss. I treat people with substance abuse and obsessive-compulsive habits. I also help people going through sexual orientation, intimacy, and identity issues as well as life cycle or developmental issues (quarter-life crises, career change/job loss, divorce, etc.)
I help individuals struggling to find the right spouse/partner; with decisions about relationships & post-marriage renewal. I work with couples through pre-marital, conflict resolution, intimacy and sexual dysfunction, and communication. I teach Power of Two Marriage Skills Workshops, equipping couples with the essential tools for communication skills necessary for loving and successful relationships.
I have been a practicing individual and couples' therapist in the Denver community since 2002. I hold both a Master's degree (M.A.) and a Doctorate degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology.
I also have a background in corporate business and earned a Bachelor in Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the Goizueta School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I earned a degree in Consulting & Venture Management, Communications, and minored in Spanish.
Prior to private practice, I worked in Denver's public schools, community non-profits, community mental health clinics, and a college counseling center with undergraduate and graduate students. I have loved working with, caring for, and learning from her clients. I have been deeply and positively changed by my clients from all parts of the world, from a multitude of ethnicity, religious and community affiliations, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and economic, social and relationship statuses.
I'm a Colorado native, and my husband and I ski as much as possible in the Colorado Rockies. We live in Denver, and try to give back to this community as much as it has given to us the through social justice and through the deeply connected friendships we’ve cultivated here. I'm also a dog-lover, a “foodie,” and an avid traveler.
