| Practice Description: |
I teach you new ways to respond to difficult people and life circumstances. I practice a straightforward approach with no psychobabble. The idea is that obstacles in life and difficult people give you an opportunity to get upset. However, you also play a role in your emotional upset. If you change how you think and what you believe about obstacles and difficult people, you will cope more effectively. You can be happier. The approach is simple but is not simplistic. It can be very useful. It does take practice. Between each session, I send you email to help you use it.
I am a clinical psychologist who works at the medical school of the University of Pennsylvania. My private practice is in Rittenhouse Square. My treatment approach is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I am experienced as have practiced for 23 years.
REBT is efficient. At the initial session, I will give you The REBT Pocket Companion for Clients. This little book and my customized emails will help you take the straightforward message and skills home. I believe my Intermittent Reinforcement email program can shorten the length of time you need to come to therapy. Although results vary, my average patient appears to derive some degree of improvement in seven sessions or less. Go to www.REBTDoctor.com and view my video to learn more about my very practical approach to problems of daily living.
