| Practice Description: |
“What lies before us, and what lies behind us, is not nearly as important as what lies within us.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson. As an experienced and dedicated psychotherapist, I work with individuals to help them to heal and to bring out the best of what lies within. By providing a safe therapeutic environment to facilitate personal growth, I empower my clients to break old patterns and to reach their personal goals. In giving them the tools and skills necessary to build healthy relationships and to develop positive self-esteem, I help them to lead more fulfilling lives.
When individuals grow up in dysfunctional families where their emotional needs go unmet, what begins to develop within them is an emotional void and sense of emptiness. Later in life they may try to fill this void or anesthetize their pain with addictions such as alcoholism, substance abuse, workaholism, or compulsive overeating.
Author of the book, Adult Children of Alcoholics, much of my work focuses on helping individuals recover from depression, early childhood trauma, and addictions. Through the skillful use of insight, compassion and humor, clients will receive the encouragement and support they need to address their issues and to make positive and healthy changes in their lives.
You can view my more comprehensive web-site at denvertherapy.net or bouldertherapy.net. There is more information posted there as well as five articles that I have written.
