| Practice Description: |
Many people do not understand what a sex therapist does. A psychotherapist who specializes in issues of sex and sexuality continues to work psychotherapeutically. In other words, sex therapy is still addressed through talk therapy. I provide a safe, respectful and professional environment which encourages clients to reflect on and work through aspects of their sexuality and sexual history that they may not feel comfortable discussing in-depth with a professional that has not been specifically trained to address sexual issues.
I have helped clients and couples with: low arousal/libido; premature ejaculation; erectile dysfunction; vaginismus; vulvodynia; "coming-out" issues; past sexual traumas; sexual addiction; sexual anorexia; sexual phobias and fetishes. I also have a clinical specialty regarding family planning; infertility and conceiving using technologies such as AI, IVF, egg and sperm donation, gestational surrogacy, and adoption.
I received my B.A. from UC Berkeley and my Ph.D. from The University of Chicago. I am a research fellow at UCLA and a member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I am currently training for my CSAT (certified sexual addition therapist).
