Wow what a crazy time in our world! Are you like many others wondering how to make sense of it all? When we are bombarded with constant bad news our coping skills are tested to the max! You may revert back to unhealthy habits, lose sleep, worry more, snap at loved ones, want to hide under the covers, and even feel hopeless at times. You are not alone. I am glad you decided to find someone to help you sort things out.
You finally pick up the phone and make the call, you may have no idea what to expect. Well expect me (or my voicemail initially), unlike many other practices I schedule my own appointments. You can chat with me for a few minutes and ask a few questions that may be important to you before making an appointment. If you are comfortable with what you hear, make an appointment.
The next step is coming in, if this experience is new to you, you don't know what to expect. There is no mystery to therapy. We will work together to help you to feel better and be the best you can be. I provide therapy in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. I will be your partner in your healing / learning process.
Okay now for the "usual" facts. I have 20+ years experience as a psychiatric nurse and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked in both inpatient and out patient treatment settings. My unique experiences as both a nurse and a counselor gives clients a more holistic experience. I am trained in Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Enhancement, Family and Hypnotherapy. I blend my training and experience to provide a course of treatment that will hopefully work for you. If it is not working we put our heads together and tweak our plan.
