I am fortunate to work at Jackson Memorial Hospital while maintaining a private practice. As a psychologist and supervisor to many trainees, I find myself more and more focused on the quality of relationship between client and therapist and how this provides a secure framework from which the journey of self-discovery unfolds. It is my part as the therapist to accompany the client in understanding his or her experience and together we make sense of that experience. Yet, this process cannot be understood or appreciated without the most important component of all--the personal engagement of client and therapist.
Although I work with a very diverse group of individuals, the following are my areas of specialty: PTSD and trauma, relationship difficulties, poor self-esteem, and grief/bereavement. My theoretical practices include: psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and health psychology.
